Hi, I just posted the below information in the thread about Blindsquare since I mentioned the navigation app Righthear and the app Cash Reader can be opened from the Righthear app if needed. However, I thought I also post it in a separate more subject-appropriate message.
I don't often require a money reader because in Canada all the bills are marked with braille dots and I always thought the money reader channel in the Seeing AI app worked quite well, but the app "Cash Reader" blows everything out of the water I have yet tried including the old Money Reader app which became Nand Money reader and which was always considered to be extremely good. Cash Reader is, however, not free, you can subscribe monthly or annually or get a lifetime license for the full version for $24.99 Canadian, in the US it is $17.99. But for this cost you get support for dozens of currencies from the big ones like US and Canadian Dollars to Euros, British Pounds, Australian and New Zealand Dollars to pretty much everything from central and South America, many European currencies from countries which aren't on the Euro like some of the Scandinavian countries, many Asian as well as African currencies. You would need to purchase the full version for all of those currencies, the free version only supports the two lowest denominations, here in Canada that would be the $5 and $10 bills. But they offer a 2-week free trial for anybody who wants to try it. I decided to simply buy it because I thought it could come in handy if I go to the Philippines where my wife is from, there is no way to distinguish their many Philippine Peso bills and it is also one of the supported currencies. I tried it with a couple of Canadian Dollar bills and I think by that time it was pretty dark so it was using the phone's flashlight which you can set to be used automatically if it's two dark and almost any which way I waved the bill by the camera it recognized it instantly, front, back, on an angle... it was actually quite impressive. You can also select if you want to use the front or back camera, by default it uses the back camera and if you switch the phone to mute it also indicates the denomination with a vibration pattern. Furthermore, once a currency pack is downloaded it will work without internet connection.
