Actually, that is not entirely true. I have often received a robotic call from my credit card company or bank to alert me of some issue, but always during such a call I would be identified by name and the request usually is to contact my bank or credit card company at my earliest convenience, but it would not ask me to call a particular number hence leaving it up to me to call the correct number for my Visa, Mastercard or bank.

I do not listen to them at all, I hang up and then block the caller on my iPhone. No legitimate business or government agency uses robotic calls to contact their customers. I always assume everything is a scam! I also never respond to any promotional emails, and I never open any email that has an attachment... Even if I know the sender. I also do not respond to any door to door solicitors. I assume everyone is a scammer, and, as a result, I hace never been scammed.
