Carolyn, If your Apple ID is different than your preferred Email address, do call Apple Accessibility 877-204-3930 And have them walk you through changing your Apple ID so you do not lose anything in the process. I know it can be done, but as you are carefully learning this stuff, it is worth it to take advantage of their service. They are there 24/7. If your email is Gmail, I'm going to go out on a limb and say it is easy to set up that mail account on your iPhone. If you want to do that, let's start a new thread.
