Hi Again Simon,

Sorry, but I sent that last message prematurely. I just tried to change my
screen orientation by unlocking the screen, & having my wife look at it
while I turned the phone, & for whatever reason I couldn't get the scree to
turn, it stayed in the portrait position. I know her & I have played with
this setting before, & it worked as described, but not tonight! I only use
the phone keypad as the experimentation screen, so it might take some
testing to get the screen the way you want it.
Take care. Mike. Go Dodgers!

Hi Simon,

First you need to know if your screen orientation is locked or not. If you
don't lock your screen & rotate your iPhone the screen orientation will
change from portrait to landscape mode by turning your iPhone.

To get to the lock orientation on / off button, open the Control Center by
touching the top of the screen / status bar, then swiping up with 3 fingers.
Now swipe to the right a few times, I believe it's 4 times, to the Lock
Orientation button, & single finger double tap it to toggle it on / off.

For portrait mode:
With the lock orientation off, turn your iPhone to the vertical position
meaning the length of your iPhone is going away / perpendicular to your
body. Now single finger double tap the lock orientation button to lock it
in this position.

For Landscape mode:
With the lock orientation off, turn your iPhone to the horizontal position,
meaning the length of your iPhone is going across / left to right / parallel
to your body. Now single finger double tap the lock orientation button to
lock it in this position.

Take care. Mike. Go Dodgers!

  Hi Simon,

Landscape, refers to your screen when it displays horizontally so the
screen spreads out from side to side / left to right.

Portrait, differs in that the screen is displaying vertically so the
screen displays up and down.

Hi everyone! I was just wondering how do you know which mode you have your
phone set to? Portrait or landscape?
