Hi List,

My iPhone 6S Plus was recently replaced on under Apple Care Plus warranty. I
decided to set up the replacement phone as a new phone instead of restoring the
backup of my old 6S Plus just because it's been some time since I had done this
and I thought it might boost the performance a bit. Anyhow, as we probably all
experience, we sometimes download apps to try and then find they end up in a
folder somewhere or on the last home screen where they rarely get used so I
only put back the apps I know I am using frequently thinking I can redownload
other apps as needed. Most users of course will put the top apps on the first
home screen for quick and easy access so I put 5 rows of 4 apps on my first
home screen and of course I have my 4 apps in the dock. Then I installed a
couple of apps yesterday and while they all ended up on the second home screen
(page 3 as Apple counts since page 1 now is the Today screen) I suddenly
realized I had the Facetime app on my first home page in row 6. I rarely use
the Facetime app since most of my Facetime calls are made to people in my
contact list so I don't have to manually enter somebody's phone number or email
but in any case, I either must be getting senile or I just forgot that one can
have 6 rows of 4 apps + the dock. I am trying to remember how many rows I had
on my previous phone and thought it was only 5 as well. Can somebody enlighten
me on this? Has Apple somehow added a sixth row with iOS 10.1 or did I just
forget that I always had 6 rows of apps on my first home screen?
I just did a Google search and found a nice article on Lifewire.com which lists
an overview table of how many screens and folders (apps) one can have on the
various size iPhone models and also how many apps can be in a folder etc.
According to this I am becoming senile as it mentions 24 folders (same for apps
of course) + 4 folders/apps for the dock for both the 5.5 inch and 4.7 inch
iPhones. Here is the article:

Regards,
Sieghard
