You can try things like turning off bluetooth and WIFI when not actually
using them. If you are totally blind you can turn screen brightness down to
zero. Under Settings, turn off background app refresh, and also check each
app in settings to make sure it is turned off, because I have found that
some apps such as Roger will sometimes turn it back on for their app after
updating. i have also learned that after an IOS update, you should go
through settings and make sure that they haven't been changed.
