Hello Cara,

Did you find a solution to your problem?

I've given it some thought, and the first thing that comes to mind is that you
may want to copy all of your media to your MacBook Air via a third party
solution called Senuti.

Now I haven't used it in 2 years or so but, back then, at least, it was
completely VoiceOver accessible.

Senuti, which is iTunes spelled backward, will see all of the media files on
your iPHone, categorized in a tree view.

So, as I once did, copy all of the media files to a folder on your Mac, then,
sync your phone. This will erase the data but, then you can bring the data
back via the latest version of iTunes. Of course, you will have to add the
media to your iTunes Library but, rarely, does anything come without a price.

This solution may seem a bit painful at first glance but I can tell you from
personal experience that Senuti really saved the day for me back in the, Day;
get it? (smile).

Good Luck and let us know what happens.

Mark

Subject: Syncing only ringtones to an iPHone

HI All,

This should be easy but it seems not to be right now on my end of the universe
at least! :)

I do all my backups and restores to / from iCloud at this point as I mainly use
a Macbook Air so the storage to support a full backup of my iPhone on my MBA is
just not practical.

A while ago I realized that all of my ring and text tones were no longer on my
phone and I could not figure out why this was, since as I mention above, all my
data should be in iCloud.

Upon doing a bit of Googling, it appears that ring and text tones are not
actually backed up along with all other phone data. Go figure. I guess a backup
really isn’t a backup. Who would have thought. ;)

Anyway, I do have all the tones on my computer but now I cannot find a way to
get only these tones to copy back over to my phone.

I.E. iTunes wants to erase my entire phone because it thinks my phone is synced
with an ancient iTunes library that this phone has not synced with literally in
years.

Is there a way that I can sync only my ring and text tones and simply have all
other data be left alone?

The fact that this should even need to be asked regarding an Apple product in
2016 is really amazing to me. :)

anyway, any help / suggestions anyone can offer will sure be greatly
appreciated!

Thanks all and have a good evening!

Cheers!

Cara
