Wayne, I like Sports Scores and Alerts by Luno Software. I think I paid something at one time to get rid of some ads perhaps but it's listed as free under the iTunes US Apps Store. It does a very good job of notifications of the teams you've selected although like all apps that have many features, it had a bit of a learning curve. The developer has always been responsive to emails I've sent about accessibility issues and I've not noticed any of late.

I don't mind if there is a cap on the favorite teams, just so long as that cap is not 1 or 2 teams. I would also want a way to see a list of coming games and past games with scores, so even if a team is not in my favorites, I could still find it.
