Hi Daniel, I am not sure if Jerry is talking about Audible books, based on his subject I assume he is talking about just audio books in general, most likely MP3 formatted books.
Anyhow, I haven't synced audio books via iTunes in a long time since I much prefer to use Voice Dream Reader to listen to them instead of the stock Music app. If you have Voice Dream Reader all you have to do is zip the files into a zip folder, then copy said zip folder into a Dropbox folder you can call Audio Books or Voice Dream Reader or whatever. Once they have uploaded to Dropbox you can access them from the Voice Dream App and download them in the app and listen. I guess with the new version you can also do this via iCloud, but I haven't tried it et. Whenever your credits arrive, simply log onto the site through a computer, purchase your audiobooks and once the purchase is complete, open the app on your iPhone and refresh. To Refresh, find the tab at the top of the window that says "Cloud" and do a one finger double tab to select. Then swipe right with one finger until you hear your Audible book cloud library, then do a three finger swipe down and that should refresh your library. If that doesn't work, go into the Settings and there is a option to refresh the library. This method, there is no need for a computer to sync, just need it to log on to the site and make the purchase. Once that is done, the rest is done on the phone. When you want to listen to a book, just do a one finger double tap on the book and it will begin to download it. If you want to only see the list of books that are downloaded, where you found the "cloud" tab at the top, right next to it you will find a tab that says "device", this will list only the books that are downloaded onto your phone. If you have a small data cap, you might want to also wish to go into the settings of the Audible app and allow downloads only via wi-fi. Once the book is downloaded, you double tap on it again and it begins playing. It's as easy as that. Hope this helps! I am getting desperate now! I have tried everything I can find to get audio books onto my iPhone. I even bought iExplore because it said you could mount the folders like a windows drive, but no luck! I also bought the JTunes scripts for iTunes, and can't get to the audio books from there either! If anyone can tell me how to put audio books on my iPhone 6 from my Windows 7 PC, I would be very grateful! I had not wanted to jail-break my iPhone, but if that is the only way, I guess I can try that. please send any ideas you have!
