Victor,

I tried Cortana because I haven't read any articles or heard any podcasts
describing the app and I'd rather try it for myself in any event. I use Siri
and Google on a limited basis but find each of them helpful in the areas
where I think they excel. I thought Cortana might bring a different set of
strengths to the digital assistant category which is why I tried her.

Good point.

Wasn't actually criticizing, just sincerely wondering why double up on an
app that another can do.

I would understand if Siri weren't accessible, or if Cortana had a more
useful function that Siri just did not possess, but from all accounts I've
heard, both on the web, and on various podcasts, Cortana seems to be very
limited compared to Siri, and Cortana is not Google, so I'm not quite
understanding why you're bringing Google Voice into a message that had
nothing to do with Google's option to Siri.

In any case, I had never said it was an issue for me, but thanks for telling

me off for asking a simple question.

Sounds like you've already made up your mind, and since no one is
forcing you to install Cortana then I don't see this as a big issue for you.

If people are already using Cortana on other devices, such as their PC,
Mac or Android device, then using it on their IOS devices might make
sense. Also, Cortana may just be better than Siri. Some people already
think that Google Now is superior to Siri, so it's not unreasonable to
think that something could be even better than Siri or Google Now. BTW,
there are already those who think that Siri is frivolous, so of course
Cortana will also get the same critics.

Since Cortana is free, people can choose to install or not to install
the app, and determine for themselves if they like Cortana better than
Siri or not. For me, I'd like to see a side by side comparison of
Cortana, Siri and Google Now, something based on fact and without any
biases, and until then I'll decide whether I want to check out Cortana
for myself or not.
