Hi Matthew,
As far as setting up your exchange email, yes, you can definitely do so and not have it sync contacts to your phone. Right at the end of the wizard when you set up your account, you will be given the opportunity to select what you want to sync: mail, contacts, calendar and I think Notes is also in that list for exchange accounts. Just select only Mail if that is all you want. As for using iTunes with your new phone, Anthony’s suggestion might be easiest, just create a new Windows account and set up iTunes with your personal Apple Id, then specify what you want to sync. You might be OK doing it from your main account since multiple iDevices are treated as separate evices by iTunes, but to be sure this might be better. I do this on my laptop for my wife’s iPhone, she has her own Windows sign-in which of course also has the benefit that I was able to set up her own Dropbox and OneNote folders and if I want to sync/backup her phone, I just sign into her account, open iTunes and everything is completely separate including her music library, her apps, tones etc. Regards, Sieghard From: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of Matthew Bullis Sent: Monday, September 28, 2015 6:17 PM To: [email protected] Subject: ITunes and the correct apple id. Hello, I'd like not to have to install ITunes on another computer if possible. When I get my new iPhone, I would like to set it up only with my personal id and not the work id. I created my personal id on the Apple page some time ago. Since the computer has info about my work Apple id, how do I make sure that when I want to set up my new phone that it only puts in the details for my personal id? Also, I assume that I could add my Exchange e-mail account onto my new phone without getting a whole set of hundreds of contacts added to my phone list. Do I have to turn something off in order for that to be set correctly? Matthew -- The following information is important for all members of the VIPhone list.
