Think of the shake/undo feature as select all, as Michelle says, you can just 
start typing or tap the delete button to only delete the text.

need to hit the space. If I do that it deletes the text and says something

I tried it another time and got the same results as you. I'm wondering if 
that's how it should work so that you have an option if you really want to 
delete it or not. It's just that it didn't speak to me the first time, and I

For the daring amongst you, there is now a new audible update in the App Store. 
The little blurb that accompanies the update is useless. It gives no specifics 
as to what they fixed. In fact, there are several updates out that are 
suffering from this problem. The usual Facebook and messenger four instance. I 
wish Apple would require developers to actually tell us specifically what they 
fixed or improved when they put out an update.

Hi Mary,
 
Audible mentions "Crash Fixes" in the What's New section for this release. Yes, 
that is fairly generic, but if whatever they changed makes the app more stabil 
and causes it to crash less then I guess there is not much else they can say.
Facebook and Messenger always just state the generic message that they are 
releasing updates about every 2 weeks to make the app better. I have at times 
seen more detailed information if actual new features were added. I agree that 
maybe they could be a bit more specific at times.

Yes, I did see that reference to some fixed crashes. And I suppose that is 
something. But it just seems so generic. Anyway, I did download the app onto my 
old for S. The first time I opened it, it crashed. However, I opened it again, 
and after some time, I got to see my library. Of course this phone is old and 
slow, so I shouldn't expect too much. So far, it's OK. No more crashes.

things. I don’t even have a Facebook account. I am mainly needing it to watch 
some live webinars. Unfortunately, these live webinars are only done on 
Periscope.
 
I know the app is free so, please do not reply with the app is free so go try 
it. I’m asking because I do not want to waste a lot of time trying to set up an 
account and taking the time to try to learn the app only to discover hours 
later that some important aspects of periscope and the app are not accessible. 
Obviously, I will not be able to see the video feed but I will be able to hear 
it and I will probably need to be able to access the feedback from other 
Periscopers.

Periscope right now. The key is to follow the person who is doing the broadcast 
on twitter and also in periscope. Once you follow the person, you get a tweet 
when the broadcast starts. Just open the app and you'll find the broadcast.

The normal ways, either via Airplay if you have an Airport Express connected to 
a Sonos player with RCA or 3.5mm inputs (Connect, Connect Amp or Play 5) or by 
connecting your iPhone with a cable to one of these players. 
Might be worth to call Sonos and tell them about this developer and ask if they 
couldn't make a deal with them to offer this as a music service, I assume there 
would have to be some sort of fee. If Sonos ever comes out with a high-end 
headset which hopefully will be soon this would be pretty awesome.
I did download the Nature Space app and also the ThunderGod app from the same 
developer which is a $9.99 app in the US app store ($11.99 in Canada) and has 
only thunderstorm and rain sounds with no in-app purchases) and I'll see how it 
sounds on my Sonos surround setup with Playbar, Play 1 rear speakers and Sonos 
Sub. I believe from the app description you really get the most out of this app 
with a good headset, but I'll give it a try and post my findings.

 Touch ID and purchasing things in the Apple online stores

I am confused about the use of touch ID in places like the iBooks store, app 
store or iTunes store. I thought I was set up for that. But I just purchased an 
iBook. I hit the buy button and was prompted to sign in with my password. I put 
my finger on the home button for touch ID, nothing happened. So I signed in the 
usual way and the book was purchased. Now I don't have a problem signing in. I 
have been doing it for a long time. But I am confused as to how this touch ID 
thing is supposed to work. There must be some setting I am missing. Or I just 
don't understand its operation.

Hi Mary,
 
The first time you buy something after a reboot you will always be prompted to 
enter your password. If you now purchase another item Touch Id will do the 
trick, but make sure you have it enabled for purchases in Settings > Touch Id 
and Password.

Hi folks.
 
For those of you who are having trouble typing in edit fields with your 
external keyboards, try this.
 
Go into an edit field and turn Screen Curtain off. I believe VO+SHIFT+S will do 
this.
 
I almost always have screen curtain on here, and never thought to try disabling 
it. When I turn screen curtain off, I can type just fine! Turn it back on, and 
I can't type at all again.
 
Jonathan, you wern't having this problem. By any chance, do you ever turn 
screen curtain on?

 Question about the latest newsify update

I just installed the latest update to newsify with iOS nine support. In the 
blurb that accompanies the update, there is a note that they have added some 
kind of open in Safari action. And this is supposed to let you do that without 
leaving the app. I assume they mean the newsify app. I looked around in 
settings, did notsee anything like that. I did 3-D touch on an article link, 
thinking it would open in Safari. More accurately I thought it would offer me 
an action menu that would give Safari as a choice. But it didn't. If somebody 
is using this app and gets this update and figures out what this open in Safari 
thing means and how to activate it, I would love to know. Thanks and advance.

These problems refer to keyboard accessibility issues in playlists and were
created in iTunes 12.2.1 and continue in 12.3:
 

 
*Selection:
 
Within playlists created with these iTunes versions, selection no longer
seems to follow the cursor keys- so standard windows keyboard commands for
cut or copy result in a "nothing selected" error message. It is impossible
to re-arrange the order of songs created under these versions of iTunes. The
only playlists which are still functional are those which were created in
prior versions of iTunes.
 

 
*Navigation: 
 
Using the arrow keys, after arrowing up or down for 15 or so lines, the
selection focus is lost. You cannot read the information or proceed further
in that direction without first arrowing backward one line- which then
allows you to move forward one more line- thus advancing only one line at a
time (backwards then forwards) in a see-saw fashion. The cursor actually
does move but the focus seems to be lost and the new song information is not
read.
 
Using the home or end key moves the cursor to the end or beginning of the
playlist; but JAWS does not read the information on that line. It is
necessary to arrow away from that song and back before the information can
be read.
 
Similarly, the page up and page down keys will not read the information for
the song on which the cursor lands.
 

 
*Nuisance artwork:
 
With these iTunes versions, artwork appears on each line of the playlist.
Even copying the songs from an old playlist without artwork into a new one
created under these versions produces a playlist with the artwork icons. 
 

 
*Nuisance iTunes becoming unresponsive:
 
Accidental use of the standard windows command Control-Home results in
iTunes freezing. This command is so commonly used for various purposes by
keyboard users that this is bothersome.

Since installing iTunes 12.2.1, new playlists are not accessible to persons
relying on keyboard accessibility to work with them. I phoned Apple
Accessibility recently to see if the tech could replicate my problem. He
verified that with the latest iTunes, you cannot use keyboard shortcuts to
select, copy or move songs in new playlists with the keyboard (using a PC).
He verified that it is not a JAWS issue as he did not have JAWS installed,
and could not perform these functions either. I can still use all these
keyboard commands within playlists created prior to installing the new
iTunes- but even if I duplicate an old playlist and rename it (so I can have
a editable playlist) the newly duplicated playlist is non-editable-
apparently because it was duplicated under the new iTunes. The only way I
can add songs to one of these new playlists is by using 'add to playlist' on
the context menu- and the order of songs is unchangeable by this method-
I.E. the order you add the songs is unchangeable after the fact. So,
basically playlists are not very useful.

I updated to v9.0/1 and got a new 6s. KNFB reader didn't download despite
repeated requests, so I deleted and re-installed. If I go to take a picture,
the app closes and the focus changes to "wallet" which is on the same page
of apps as KNFB reader.
 
Suggestions? Others have same experience?

So how can you correct this.
Also have any of you since you have upgraded noticed that you will have 
A bet quicker the normal battery drop.
Like you can have your battery be at 97 percent and then the next time 
you turn your phone on it will be at like 94 percent.
So what can you all turn off or change to make it last A bit longer?

There are a few of us that have settings stuck in the app switcher. I think it 
is a bug in iOS9.0.1. I am not sure what to say about your quick battery drop 
other than when it is below 20% it will go into power saving mode so you can 
have more battery until you can charge it.

Somebody else already posted about Settings being in the app switcher after a 
reboot. There really is nothing you can do about it, if you think it's a bug 
report it to Apple, but as far as I am concerned, I think this is so trivial 
and irrelevant that we should send them messages about more serious issues like 
the phone calls answering problem which some people experience first.
 
As far as battery is concerned, I would do a Reset Network Settings, if there 
are any processes stuck which needlessly use WiFi or data this will clear that 
up. The reset option for this in in Settings > General > Reset. Keep in mind 
that you will have to reconnect to your WiFi after doing this and hence make 
sure you know your WiFi password.
Apart from that you can Google "iOS Battery saving tips" and you'll find a 
multitude of articles which describe the things you can do like turning off 
Bluetooth if you don't need it, setting mail from Push to fetching mail on a 30 
minute schedule, looking through your background app refresh and location 
services and turn off items which aren't important to you etc.
