Wile on a trip to Virginia we used my wife's iPad Air to navigate around town as we were in town to attend a wedding. Of course she didn't need voice over. Failing to recharge her iPad, she asked to borrow mine and didn't turn VO off. The directions still worked perfectly. The same feature is on my iPhone 5s. My question is can this be used for walking directions as well? I tried the driving directions on my 5s as she was driving and it worked perfectly. So if it works for driving directions, would it work as well if you were walking?
