I heard rumors that the 6 and 6 plus will actually accept up to 2 amps if
you plug into such a charger. A lot of these batteries out now automatically
adjust to charge the fastest that is safe, so it should work with the 6 plus
as well.

The 6+ charges using 5V1A and the Anker you describe can output 5V3A
so yes, it will work.
