In a previous Message I had stated that it is not possible to get character feedback using braille but was wrong about it.
Here is how it works: If setting to speak characters and words is set in vo settings, it works in uncontracted braille. So, before typing make sure with 3 finger swipe right that you are in this mode and it will work.
