I can understand where a message like try Googling for it or it's in the manual can be kind of put offing, but sometimes that is the best answer. People on lists are going to answer questions based on what they know. For example, when people ask how much something costs, people are going to know what they've paid for it, which may not be the same as what you can get it for now. When people ask for where to go to get a list of bluetooth keyboard commands for VoiceOver, I just Google it myself and paste the link into my message. There's no reason the person asking the question couldn't perform the same search I did, and they'd get the answer a lot quicker. I'm not saing people shouldn't ask questions, and people definitely shouldn't be dismissive, but I don't think pointing to Google, AppleVis.com or other sources isn't a good answer.

Actually, I mentioned two different places that had it later in this very
thread. Yes, I could have given their web sites had I had them at my
fingertips, but I get around 300 messages a day and didn't have the time. Sorry
about that. I figured since I did mention the two sites that it would be just
as easy for someone to find the links as it would be for me to look them up for
you. So, considering that many on this list are very busy and yet willingly
offer such time as we have, the information we provide may need further
investigation by the person who is wanting the information.

Sweetwater and B&H photo are the places mentioned below. I'm happy if that
keeps you from having to read to the end of the thread to find them.

Then why should we have this list for asking questions on products.
Or whatever is asked doubt on it.
Then why then don't we just Google everything and that would save the list mods
A hole lot of work.
You know if you are going to tell people to just Google it then why reply I
know I can do that but I guess we are not supposed to ask questions on the list
about anything.

Why don't you Google it?

Here is a snip from the Zoom site. It does talk about the spacer.

Begin Snip.

X/Y Stereo for Versatility and Realism

The iQ6 features two high quality unidirectional condenser
microphones in an X/Y configuration the same ones used in our
world-famous H4n Handy Recorder. X/Y stereo recording is a great way
to cover a wide area while still capturing sound sources in the center with
clarity and definition.
You can even change the mic angle from 90 degrees for a tightly
focused image to 120 degrees for immersive wide-angle stereo. (US
Patent

Microphone In, Headphone Out

The iQ6's large analog-type MIC GAIN wheel and three-segment level
LEDs ensure that you'll always get great audio in every environment
from quiet meetings to loud concerts with crystal clarity and no
signal overload. The iQ6's dedicated headphone jack which doubles
as a line output enables direct monitoring during both recording and playback.

Extended Connector, Removable Spacer

The iQ6 comes with an extended Lightning connector and removable
spacer that allows it to be used with most iPhone, iPad and iPod
cases. Simply plug your iQ6 in and start making great-sounding stereo
recordings!

* Some cases might prevent connection even when the case adjuster is
removed.

The Zoom Handy Recorder App

Zoom's Handy Recorder app, available for free from the iTunes App
Store, provides a wealth of tools for your iQ6 and iOS device. In
addition to offering onscreen level metering, it enables you to set
the iQ6 headphone volume, as well as adding an automatic recording
function handy for capturing the sound of meetings, speeches, and
other situations where you don't want to miss a thing. Choose linear
PCM format for the highest quality sound or AAC format to conserve
storage space, then apply compression, EQ and reverb effects to your recordings.
Handy Recorder even allows you to email your files to friends and to
upload them to SoundCloud for sharing with the world.

End snip.

I have also read that the microphone will work with other apps as well.
I don t believe the HandiRec app will export to DropBox, but I may
be wrong about this. I have lately fallen in love with AudioMemos,
but I also have a number of other recording apps as well.

Fanus. There is an app made specificly for the microphone it is
called HandiRec. However, if the controls on the microphone allow
you to do the adjustment from the microphone, you can likely use any
app you already have. I won t know this until mine comes. I m
checking on the spacer that was talked about for making it work with
cases. B&h are the only people who talk about this, and Sweetwater seems not to
know about it.
So, I don t know if it is something B&H makes or if it comes with
the Microphone. I think I will call B&H and find out.

Hello Neal

Sorry but one more question: which app do you recommend to be used
with the Zoom iQ6?
