Make Specific Space Characters Visible

Hi,

I'd like to visualize specific space characters through the *conceal*
mechanism.

Here's my first (failed) attempt:

    syntax match ThreePerEmSpace " " conceal cchar=⅓
    syntax match FourPerEmSpace " " conceal cchar=¼
