There is no good way to do this except to email the maintainers only ... wait, try again ... repeat. If get a positive response, good. Otherwise, find a volunteer to take over maintenance! That's too much work for what you are doing, but Bram cannot take patches like these because the maintainer might later send an update to Bram, but the maintainer failed to receive, or failed to process, your email.
