Thanks for your assistance. I ended up noticing what was wrong - the BAR required for MSI-X wasn't being assigned but moving the card back to the original slot (not as good for airflow) solved the issue and now the bars are assigned again for some reason and it works once more. I wish I had checked before I posted but I assumed that changing a slot wouldn't cause that issue.
