I can share my experience. I had FX-8350 / Sabertooth 990FX R.2 / R9 270X. At first i could play titanfall fine. Then after some kernel updates which coincided with my hardware having a warranty trip it started to stutter. No matter what i did lag remained to be just enough that it was unplayable. I tried bf3 after stutters began and it was unplayable. No matter what i tried nothing helped so i too ended up dual-booting until i replaced my hardware with GA-X99-UD4 / i7-6800K / GTX 1080. Now i play bf1 without issues.
