Hello, I have noticed strange behavior of VM with nVidia card passed through. When I shutdown VM gracefully it then starts without an issue. But if I destroy it forcibly, it hangs after loading kernel (I believe, it happens right after loading 'nvidia' kernel module). Before it starts to boot it hangs several minutes on OVMF boot screen and does not allows to do anything.
After it loads kernel (most probably nvidia.ko) this thing happens: https://bugzilla.kernel.org/show_bug.cgi?id=121711 and it is impossible to even forcibly destroy the domain. The VM which runs on the same host but with AMD video card (and open source drivers) does not hangs after destruction and works. I use proprietary nVidia driver for GTX760 video card, libvirt for maintenance of VMs (I have two with nVidia and AMD cards). It looks like this issue is somehow related to video card. And graceful shutdown does something that allows it to deinitialize video card properly. Does anybody have any thoughts? I may provide additional information if required. Thanks. -- Best regards, Alexander Betaev
