Just for the record: You can choose to play or not to play DD in the existing audio track selection dialog. This patch is only needed for brain-dead plugins that use the existing 'record DD' option (that is mis-named as 'use dolby digital') as default selection for their own playback behavior. I have the 'use dolby digital' option permanently on without DD hardware, and without problems. At least until I want to play a DVD of course.
