Yeah, I've thought about that. However, I like keeping the development packages off my production machines and for that packages are usually the most convenient. Funny enough, I've tried my packages on another Debian machine now which had the dev packages installed and everything seems to work there. So, I suppose it's some kind of weird dependency problem.
