We suffered the same problem and came to the same conclusion. Courier had to go. We installed Binc two years ago and have been very happy so far. I doesn't even use enough resources to know it is there, I honestly forget about it. We looked at Dovecot and may again, but we choose Binc because we needed maildir++ quota support (which Dovecot now supports). DAve -- Google finally, after 7 years, provided a logo for veterans.
