I'm not sure what these 'read receipt' emails are with the winmail.dat files attached, I will, for now, assume they are some new form of virus, as they have come in via many different addresses.
I haven't seen anything about it on the clamav mailing list, and our clamav setup is not catching these, however, I am investigating the matter further and hopefully these annoyances will not happen any longer. For the mean time, I have removed the following addresses from the list: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [EMAIL PROTECTED] [EMAIL PROTECTED] [EMAIL PROTECTED] [EMAIL PROTECTED] they seem to be relatively old subscribers, and I apologize for having to take such measures, but until I can figure out what's going on, I'll assume either virus, or misconfigured MUA, either way, it doesn't belong here. On that note, until we can pin down what the problem is, I think it's safe to say that you should NOT open any of these such emails, as if they are virii, they're probably exploiting some outlook bug (surprising, eh?) and infecting client machines. If you have any information (ie, if this is a virus, you have the abilities to decipher what exactly this winmail.dat file contains, etc) please drop me an email (or post to the list, however it's off topic). Thanks, and if this is a virus of some sort, I personally apologize to anyone who may get infected. -Jeremy -- Jeremy Kitchen Systems Administrator [EMAIL PROTECTED] Kitchen @ #qmail on EFNet - Join the party! .....................
