The string "sqwebmail-ip" doesn't appear anywhere in the vpopmail source. I don't know enough about sqwebmail to know how vpopmail could cause it to create that file with root:root ownership.

i've found out that the error is caused by sqwebmail-ip file suddenly owned by root.root. ihasmanually chown it back to vpopmail.vchkpw and the problem solved. i also notice that not every userthis file in their Maildir directory. why?
Only logged in accounts have this file.
somebody in sqwebmail list once told me that this could be a bug. is it true?
This bug has been reported only when vpopmail is being used. As such, this is likely to be a bug in vpopmail.
