We added a clear password field that used to be default turned off for backwards compatibility. I think in later versions of 5.3 folks updated the code to support either. I'd recommend backing up your vpopmail/bin, lib and include directory then doing a regular install of vpopmail with --enable-clear-passwd=n. Re config/compile courier-imap from scratch. If that does not work you can put the old binaries back. I bet it would work. my 2cents Ken Jones
