to avoid router issues, i am doing this on the mail server telnet localhost 110 user [EMAIL PROTECTED] pass xxxx ERR $Home/Mailbox doesnt exist for this user. Connection closed by remote host.
It successfuly authenticates [EMAIL PROTECTED] but rejects the user because the user doesnt hv Mailbox. this is true because this is a virtual user. i am only able to access mails to [EMAIL PROTECTED] thru sqwebmail but not thru Outlook express - POP. then i tried telnet localhost 110 user [EMAIL PROTECTED] pass xxxx ERR authentication failed. Connection closed by remote host. i think the reason why it happens is that vopomail doesnt know anything about ojoobala.com. i compiled ./vadddomain as mail.ojoobala.com. the only domain i see under home/vpopmail/domain is mail.ojoobala.com but no ojoobala.com. thanks, -B --- VeNoMouS <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > yes and as i said to you, your router prob dont > understand how to return the > to the internel ip once passing to the externel, > telnet to mail.oobala.com > on 110 , tell me if it connects , if it dont telnet > to the internal ip of > your mail server and if it connects, and if your got > your pop3 to your > external host, well then change it to your internal > in outlook because your > router dont understand how to do the return route > from internal to external > to internal again. > > anyway give it a try and let me know > ----- Original Message ----- > From: "Balaji NJL" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> > To: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> > Sent: Thursday, September 04, 2003 6:23 PM > Subject: Re: [vchkpw] Unable to access mail using > POP and domain issues with > vpopmail > > > > i am not sending messages 3 times. i did check the > > mail thread i hv only one posting. > > > > i think the issue is not whether my SMTP is > running. i > > am having issue with accessing my virtual domain - > > mail.ojoobala.com and local domain using POP > (Outlook > > express) > > > > Chris did send me couple of messages to my new > eamil > > address earlier and i got them all. > > > > -B > > --- VeNoMouS <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > > > man stop sending 3 times to the mailing list. > > > > > > can you even telnet 0 25 > > > do u even have tcpserver running for your smtp? > > > ----- Original Message ----- > > > From: "Balaji NJL" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> > > > To: "VeNoMouS" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>; "Chris Pugh" > > > <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>; > > > <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> > > > Sent: Thursday, September 04, 2003 5:07 PM > > > Subject: Re: [vchkpw] Unable to access mail > using > > > POP and domain issues with > > > vpopmail > > > > > > > > > > When i remove ojoobala.com from locals and > then > > > send > > > > mail to [EMAIL PROTECTED] i get the > following > > > error > > > > in my logs > > > > > > > > delivery 22: deferral: sorry, _I_ wasnt able > to > > > > establish an SMTP connection #4.4.1 > > > > > > > > > > > > thanks, > > > > -B > > > > > > > > --- VeNoMouS <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > > > > > ive checked your mx its fine, what do your > logs > > > say > > > > > when u send yourself an > > > > > email?? > > > > > ----- Original Message ----- > > > > > From: "Balaji NJL" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> > > > > > To: "Chris Pugh" > > > <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>; > > > > > <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> > > > > > Sent: Thursday, September 04, 2003 12:58 PM > > > > > Subject: RE: [vchkpw] Unable to access mail > > > using > > > > > POP and domain issues with > > > > > vpopmail > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > Actually ny setup is slightly different. > > > > > > > > > > > > i hv a single static IP address that > points to > > > my > > > > > > firewall and my webserver and mail server > are > > > > > behind a > > > > > > firewall. i am doing a port forward to my > > > servers. > > > > > The > > > > > > physical name of my mail server machine is > > > > > > mail.ojoobala.com. my mx and all other > alias > > > point > > > > > to > > > > > > same external IP address. > > > > > > > > > > > > Would adding ojoobala.com as my virtual > > > address in > > > > > > vpopmail would help. i would like to > receive > > > mails > > > > > to > > > > > > both mail.ojoobala.com and ojoobala.com. > > > > > > > > > > > > thanks a lot, > > > > > > -B > > > > > > --- Chris Pugh > > > <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> > > > > > > wrote: > > > > > > > Hi Balaji, > > > > > > > > > > > > > > As an aside .. check your DNS records > for > > > > > > > both oojoobala.com & > mail.oojoobala.com!!! > > > > > > > > > > > > > > Neither resolve properly .. > > > > > > > > > > > > > > Cheers! > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > Chris. > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > __________________________________ > > > > > > > Do you Yahoo!? > > > > > > > Yahoo!
