EITHER:
a) make this use the directory specified on the command line as the base directory
-OR-
b) change the documentation to say 'base directory for adding this domain' rather than saying that this is where it will go.
That seems like it conflicts what it says it should do.
You could likely just modify /var/qmail/users/assign to point to the new domain directory and not bother with the sym link in it's entirety. Still sorta a pain. Would be nice to see this working as expected.

I tried testing this before. What I did was to create the domain in an ordinary manner. Then moved that domain dir to where I wanted it to reside then made a link to that dir. Works normally.
