If you're really interested in ldap authentication, you should probably go all the way and use qmail-ldap (http://www.nrg4u.com/) > Do people usually use courier's pop3d? Not with vpopmail normally. The only reason I'm aware of to use it instead of qmail-pop3d (aside from running courier) is if you want it to support the Maildir++ specification, i.e. update the maildirsize file when deleting mail. I have tested it though, and it works, but you lose some vchkpw functionality in the process. Also, some people have also mentioned issues with timeouts and tcpserver over flaky networks, but I don't know if using courier's pop3d (with couriertcpd) instead was helpful, or even tried. > I meant auth-support for SMTP. and ssl for it.. Sorry.. you can patch qmail-smtpd to support smtp-auth (http://members.elysium.pl/brush/qmail-smtpd-auth/). And people have setup tcpserver with ssl, but I don't know how it's done (see archives). Should work. Cheers, Bill
