I don't think these are meant to work together. qmail-ldap is its own mta with ldap support built in. It supports virtualdomains, quotas, etc, so I don't know why you need vpopmail anyway. But vpopmail *allegedly* works with an ldap server as an authentication module (not to be confused with qmail-ldap), although I've never tried it and I get the impression it's not aggressively supported.
