I just installed some patches provided by Vladimir Kabanov to qmail 1.03
and vpopmail 4.10.32 that equip my mailserver with the following
features:
- apop and pop3 (both working together)
- smtp auth with login, cram-md5 and plain (other will follow certainly)
The patching (if done right) was quite comfortable and provides a cool set
of new features to qmail/vpopmail.
I would like to ask if some of you are in need of those features and/or if
you are already using some/all of them.
Vladimir did a more than big job in developing those patches and in
helping me to get around with them. I am very satisfied with the results.
I would further like to ask if those patches could be possibly included
into future versions of vpopmail as I feel them being more than necessary
for a pop3/smtp/imap server.
I've seen and tested some other patches I found around the mailinglist but
those did not work together properly. It seems that I now have found an
all in one and well working solution and I wanted to share these news to
you.
