Hello,
I'm using vpopmail in conjunction with courier-imap and qmail-pop3.  The
open-smtp relay feature to allow people who authenticate to relay mail
works great.  The problem I have is that when an IMAP user logs in, the
open-smtp file gets updated successfully with the IP address of the client,
but the ownership of the file changes to root instead of vpopmail, I'm guessing
that is because courier is running as root.  The ownership changes back
to vpopmail after the next scheduled run of clearopensmtp, but until that
happens, no pop3 people can relay because the pop3 server runs as
vpopmail and it can't write to the open-smtp file until it's ownership is
corrected.  Did I set vpopmail up incorrectly or is this a problem with courier?
I am not sure if courier supports running as a non-root user.  It involves a
lot of binaries so I can't just go changing things suid vpopmail.

Thanks for any ideas on this,

Dave
