Looks like there is a spelling mistake in that line
it is called vchkpw , not vhckpw
exec tcpserver -c "$concurrency" -H -R \
0 pop-3 \
qmail-popup "$hostname" \
/home/vpopmail/bin/vhckpw \
qmail-pop3d Maildir/

Man, managed to mail this *just* to Bill, but meant to send this to the
list (one of those days):

Sorry 'bout that - knew I was forgetting something.
pop script:
exec tcpserver -c "$concurrency" -H -R \
0 pop-3 \
qmail-popup "$hostname" \
/home/vpopmail/bin/vhckpw \
qmail-pop3d Maildir/
conncurreny is set to 20, and hostname is metis1.metisit.com
In respose to Tim Hunter, the log responses I am seeing are:
[date] [time] metis1 vpopmail[id]: vckpw: No user found
user@vdomain:[querying IP address]
