I just finished installing vpopmail on a Debian qmail installation. There
was one problem with vpopmail that stymied me for a while - you might want to
change the scripts, or add this info somewhere so others do not have this
grief.
After install, I noticed the following problems:
1. When logging in to the pop server, it would work if the ~vchkpw/user file
was aliased to one of the domains. Logging in as a user: user%domain.com did
not work.
2. Sending mail did not work, it would always return no such mailbox.
I traced the problem to the fact that qmail did not understand the
users/assign file, it did not know who the domain.com user was. The missing
step in the install was the fact htat qmail_newu was not run, as the debian
package installs it in the location /usr/sbin/qmail_newu. Simply running
that command solved both of the above problems.
