ERR ... Help needed ........ pls....

Im using Red Hat Linux.............     Vpopmail     Qmail     Mysql     checkpassword   I typed  this to test my Vpopmail   telnet localhost 110  then.....       user test@test.com  -> ok..      pass test  -> --ERR authorization failed  Connection closed by foreign host.   I already tried to use..   user test%test.com   doesnt work.............      What have I done wrong?????   Thanks in advance...
