Oh, that's a relief.  I thought you were explaining that this was VirtualBox's 
Run-Time Failure Mode, which my clients don't currently have a use case for.

I think you're probably right.  I seem to remember trying that at one point but 
my guess is I didn't do it properly, so I'll take another crack at it.
