Hi,

I've just tried to install VirtualBox on ubuntu through synaptics
(aptitude) using the karmic repositories.

It installed fine, i've rebooted, created a Windows XP VM, and on first
run its generated the following error:

Failed to start the virtual machine Package Builder.

Cannot open host device '/dev/sdb' for read/write access. Check the
permissions of that device ('/bin/ls -l /dev/sdb'): Most probably you
need to be member of the device group. Make sure that you logout/login
after changing the group settings of the current user
(VERR_ACCESS_DENIED).

Unknown error creating VM (VERR_ACCESS_DENIED).

Does anyone know how i can fix this?

When i installed VBox 2, i had to configure my user to be a member of a
group called VBox, but theres no VBox group available in the groups
dialog with VBox 3.0.8.

TIA for any help,

Matthew Millar
