It can emulate an em(4) Intel GigE NIC (use the “Server” type) too.

>I've yet to try XFree86® inside

This works, out of the box, and out-performs my notebooks’ bare iron
with the emulated VESA graphics in 24-bit mode, despite bitching that
it wants a 32-bit mode (which the emulated VESA BIOS does *not* pro-
vide though). Since we do not have the vboxdrv to use, I gave up there.

>as well as a non-HVM installation

Immediately terminates with SIGILL – so my earlier laudat was *too*
early, and VirtualBox is *still* broken and unusable for anything
real, unless you have Vanderpool/Pacifica, in which case most are
better off using kvm anyway.

Sometimes they [people] care too much: pretty printers [and syntax highligh-
ting, d.A.] mechanically produce pretty output that accentuates irrelevant
detail in the program, which is as sensible as putting all the prepositions
in English text in bold font. -- Rob Pike in "Notes on Programming in C"
