Hi,

I have been using Virtualbox for a couple of years without any significant
issues. However, I just upgraded to 2.2... And have my first. I am running
Virtualbox on a mandriva 64-bit system (I used the generic AMD 64-bit
virtualbox version). The guest OS is WinXP.

The problem(s):

1. On some occasions when I attempt to start the guest, virtualbox locks
completely up. The following shows up in my /var/log/messages file:

 kernel: VBoxSVC[22151]: segfault at ffffffff009ea5f7 ip 00007fbe5ab917b9 sp
0000000040de7de0 error 4 in libc-2.8.so[7fbe5ab1d000+158000]

When I have this issue, I have no way (that I know of) to review the error logs.

2. On the occasions I can get into WinXP, if I try and read a blu-ray disk
WinXP becomes totally unresponsive. This happens regardless of using a disk or
an iso image. I always have to do a power-off to kill WinXP. This usually
leads to problem #1.

reviewing the error logs hasn't helped me figure out what could be going on.

So what info should I provide to help troubleshoot this? I have the logs, but
doubt posting 600+ lines would be looked favorably.... I do appreciate any
hints I can get, Thanks

Nasa
