1. Yes, quite a pipe-dream. However, it should be known that IBM is a prime 
mover in Java technology which is Sun's current claim to fame. Go to their 
"alphaworks" site and enjoy all the goodies there.

2. IBM is not the big mammoth evil as it was once conceived.

Dell and HP are nice but not pioneers. As I said, IBM is one!

My preference is for Sun to stay Sun. Others might have preferred that Sun had 
not taken over vbox's company.

If you own any Sun stock, try to organize a stockholder's revolt. They have 
been known to be effective in some issues. This is the only "democracy" you 
will find in the corporate economy (or what remains of it).
