Hello,

I got a problem with installing Vista as Guest. Host is MacOSX 10.5,
VirtualBox is 2.1.2.

I want to install Vista, so I created a new Machine, gave it a 50GB SATA
hard disk (growing), and tried to install. But either the copying of
files during installation is sloooow (13% after several hours) or the
next step, unpacking of files, takes hours. IO APIC seems to quicken
step one.

I tried to activate PAE/NX, VT/AMDx, Nested Paging, I gave more RAM to
the VM. Nothing helped. I tried to give it some time, and kept it
running on night, but even after 8 hours it still was at "55% unpacking".

The ISOs I use are Vista Business, one with and one without SP1, both
german and 32bit, both are working on another machine.

Ill try to change from SATA to IDE, and if that does not help, Ill try a
non-growing 50GB hard disk. But that is just for fun, I'd hate to lose
that much space for a VM...

Any hints? Anything I overlooked in the FAQ and Manual?

Thanks in advance.

Regards,
OJ
