Could someone confirm (I haven't still migrated to 1.6) if this happens in
every version or just a particular flavour of Linux?

PS: I remember I once asked, begged, and Innotek (it was before the Sun
purchase) finally caved in and started also compiling RPMs for Fedora Core
6. Now... rpm builds provided are for FC7 as the earlier version...

Remember that while Fedora Core 6 might feel "old", there are still a lot of
servers with CentOS5/RHEL5 still in use, which is basically the same code
level as FC6.
