If that's indeed the case (and not just an assumption by someone who hasn't
tried it), it must be a bug in node.js's build system. Cross-compiling V8
on its own for ARM works just fine with snapshot=on. mksnapshot can be run
on the host thanks to V8's built-in simulator. Example after running "make
android_arm.release" on an x86_64 host with $CXX etc. set to a cross
compiler ("make arm.release" would do just the same):
$ file out/android_arm.release/d8
out/android_arm.release/d8: ELF 32-bit LSB executable, ARM, EABI5 version 1
(SYSV), dynamically linked (uses shared libs), not stripped
$ file out/android_arm.release/mksnapshot
out/android_arm.release/mksnapshot: ELF 32-bit LSB executable, Intel 80386,
version 1 (GNU/Linux), dynamically linked (uses shared libs), for GNU/Linux
2.6.16, not stripped
