The CABForum TLS BRs don't suggest a name for this AFAICT. The nearest I can find is:
"Application Software Supplier: A supplier of Internet browser software or other relyingâparty application software that displays or uses Certificates and incorporates Root Certificates." Despite having non-identical sets of anchors, the major Application Software Suppliers (in the CABForum sense) collaborate on the Common CA Database (CCADB<https://www.ccadb.org/>), where they are described as Root Store Operators. So perhaps "Root Store" is the term you're looking for? ________________________________ From: Michael Richardson <m...@sandelman.ca> Sent: 07 March 2025 21:02 To: Salz, Rich <rs...@akamai.com> Cc: uta@ietf.org <uta@ietf.org> Subject: [Uta] Re: webpki anchors and comodo-gate-style attacks This Message Is From an External Sender This message came from outside your organization. Yes, it's clearly not *one* thing, but multiple manifestations of the same concept. I wish to cite the concept. _______________________________________________ Uta mailing list -- uta@ietf.org To unsubscribe send an email to uta-le...@ietf.org
