UTA Members,

Regarding Document Shepherd for Updates to the Cipher Suites in Secure
Syslog:

https://datatracker.ietf.org/doc/draft-ietf-uta-ciphersuites-in-sec-syslog/

Based on some recent discussions regarding shepherding, we'd like to assign
a shepherd for this document who is not the UTA WG chair.

Please volunteer if you want to learn the process (send a message to the
chairs or to the list).

For those unfamiliar with the process:

https://www.rfc-editor.org/rfc/rfc4858.html

https://www.ietf.org/about/groups/iesg/statements/document-shepherds/

TLDR; Some working groups are experimenting with involving a document
shepherd who might not be one of the working group chairs earlier in the
process.

This approach seems to be encouraged by the IESG these days, we think it
might provide more mentoring opportunities and lead to better support for
the process.

Following IESG's advice we'd like to experiment with assigning a non chair
document shepherd earlier in the process on other work items.

Regards,

Orie and Valery
