I am of mixed-mind about Eliot’s suggestions. The phrase that keeps coming back is “we’re not the protocol police.”
If an application wants to stay on its own specifications, and not follow the use-san document, it almost seems like it should just do that, and not clutter up use-san with escape hatches.
