[xwiki-users] DBlist with external query data?

Please forgive my ignorance, but is it possible to use DBList with queries to 
other databases? I'd very much like to use this element populated with the 
results from a query to another database running on the same server as XWiki, 
but the only documentation  I can find describes queries of the XWiki database.
