I'm afraid the we are in trouble here... :-( So, as several issues seems to be related here, I think we have to establish some kind of "strategy" to identify the problems. I'm not a maven, so what I can do are only simple things. So, as it seems Lucene is, for one or other reason crowding catalina.out, I'll remove Lucene Plugin from xwiki.cfg, start a new catalina.out, restart the servlet container and see what messages we do obtain.
