You might actually want to test your hardware, too. Something like memtest86+ is probably in order, though I've never seen character-loss like that before. Maybe you have "smart-quotes" in your XML file and the code page 850 + Avast! are interfering with each other. > Time to get a new AV, gonna try with AVG free I guess.
